The Aoleang Festival is a six-day spring festival celebrated by the Konyak Naga tribe in Nagaland, India, usually held in the first week of April. This vibrant cultural event marks the end of the old year and the beginning of the new year, welcoming spring with prayers for a bountiful harvest and prosperity.

During Aoleang, the Konyak community engages in traditional rituals, folk dances, tribal songs, and grand feasts, offering a mesmerizing glimpse into their rich cultural heritage. Known for their distinctive tattoos and warrior traditions, the Konyaks bring history to life through colorful performances and age-old customs.

Day 1: Dibrugarh – Mon (119 /5-6 hrs)

Meet a representative at Dibrugarh airport and transfer to Mon, the land of the Konyak Nagas. Evening at Leisure

Day 2 : Aoleang Festival

Today we shall take part in the Aoleang Festival. We shall drive to the festival venue and take part. Take photographs with the warrior tribes of the Konyak Nagas. Try the local cuisines, brews, the dances and music, etc. Evening drive back to Mon for overnight stay.

Day 3 : Mon – Longwa (42 kms/2-3 hrs)

Today we shall drive to the international border village of Longwa. Meet the chief of the village. The international boundary line of India and Myanmar cuts right across the chiefs house. He eats in India and Sleeps in Myanmar. We shall take a village walk and get to see more cultural stuffs. Meet iron smith, and tattooed warriors. Evening drive back to Mon for overnight stay.

Day 4 : Mon – Honphoi (1 hr)

Today we shall drive to Honphoi village and meet the real tattoed warriors. Further we shall drive to Wangla village and get to see the head hunting stone pillars. Afternoon drive to Chui village and get to see the morung and log drum.
Evening drive back to Mon for overnight stay.

Day 5 : Return – Mon –  Dibrugarh – Flyout 

Today morning after breakfast, we shall drive to Dibrugarh airport to connect flight for onward destination.
