Tripura is a state located in northeastern India. It is bordered by the states of Assam to the north and west, Mizoram to the south and southeast, and Bangladesh to the east. The state is situated between 22.6°N and 24.5°N latitude and between 91.2°E and 92.3°E longitude. Tripura is known for its lush green tropical forests, hilly terrain and several rivers. The state has a total area of 10,491 square kilometers and is the third-smallest state in India. The state capital is Agartala.
The history of Tripura dates back to ancient times. The region was originally inhabited by various tribal groups, and there is evidence of human habitation in the area dating back to the Neolithic period.
In the early historical period, Tripura came under the rule of the Manikya dynasty, which ruled the region for several centuries. The Manikya kings were known for their patronage of arts and culture, and during their rule, Tripura became a center of Hindu learning and culture.
In the late 18th century, Tripura came under the control of the British East India Company, and later became a princely state under British colonial rule. After India gained independence in 1947, Tripura became a part of the newly independent country and in 1949 it became a Union Territory. In 1972 it was made a full-fledged state of India.
In the post-independence era, Tripura has seen significant development in terms of infrastructure and industry, but still remains one of the lesser developed states of India. The state has rich cultural heritage, and it is known for its natural beauty, rich biodiversity, and temples. The state government has been working to promote tourism in the region in recent years, and it has the potential to become a major tourist destination in northeastern India.

Matabari Temple: Matabari Temple is another famous temple in the state and is considered as one of the major Shakti shrines in India.
Jampui Hill: Jampui Hill is a beautiful hill station in the state, known for its picturesque views and pleasant climate.
Gumti Wildlife Sanctuary: Gumti Wildlife Sanctuary is known for its elephant population and diverse bird life.
